Brislington Community Partnership
Action Plan for Brislington

What is it?

A Community Action Plan aims to produce a vision of how residents see the past, present and future of their communities. A collaborative Community Action Plan that presents a range of diverse local views will be a powerful tool enabling us to influence the future of our neighbourhood. It provides a formal means by which local communities can feed into the processes and decisions that affect our area and our lives.

How can you join in?

We want to include as many people and groups as possible, so that all community views are represented and we can achieve consensus about the way ahead over the next two decades.

This questionnaire aims to identify potential issues that you want to see addressed. The list is not exhaustive, so if you wish to add more issues, please do so.

The printable questionnaire is here. It can be answered and returned in a number of ways:

    • Print out and pop it in one of the dedicated boxes you’ll find in local shops and eateries, pubs and libraries, post offices and schools, community centres and churches.
    • Print and send it, with any additional pages if you need more space, to Jenny Jones, Admin Support, Community Development, Wicklea Youth and Community Centre, 281 Wick Road, Bristol BS4 4HR, or email to Jenny Jones.
    • Fill in and submit the form online (see below).

Who are we?

The Steering Group includes members of Brislington Community Partnership, Brislington residents and Bristol City Council’s Sustainable City Team, who are lending support and liaising with key Statutory bodies and strategic services, to ensure commitment and involvement.

The aim of the Group is to produce an Action Plan on behalf of the Brislington Community Partnership, for the development of Brislington (East and West Wards) as a Sustainable Neighbourhood, which will meet the objects of the Constitution, ie:

    • develop strategies to tackle issues identified by the local community which would have a lasting impact on the lives of people living or working in the area
    • develop services which are responsive, accessible and accountable to the local community

This will be accomplished through collaborative working between local individuals, groups and service providers (public agencies and local commercial interests) to:

    • identify local needs and aspirations
    • establish what and where action can be taken
    • promote and facilitate organization of projects to address action areas

The Group will actively seek to ensure wide involvement in all aspects of preparation and production of the Action Plan in order to achieve broad acceptance and commitment to the implementation of actions identified.
