This bronze bow brooch was given to Bristol Museum and Art Gallery in 1935 by Miss E M Smith, and is reputed to be from Brislington's Roman villa. It features the head of a lion in the centre of the cross.
Brislington Roman villa lay in what is now Winchester Road, and was contemporary with several others in the region, built about 270 CE as a working farm with workshops. It was destroyed by fire in around 370 CE.
