This medieval floor tile was excavated by W J Pountney during his excavation of pottery manufacturing remains at the site of the Chapel of St Anne in the Wood, in 1914. These tiles are triangular, and so arranged as to form a diamond pattern when put together, the original mortar still binds them in this pattern. The design has yet to be identified but may be floral, or perhaps simply abstract.
