They don't write headlines like this any more: Melancholy Death from the Effects of the late Thunderstorm. Neither do we use words such as se'nnight, which means seven nights ago (a word formed along the same lines of the still popular fortnight). This tragic tale of Miss Ellen Price dates to the days when Brislington boasted at least one boarding school.
