Bristol Museum has an unrivalled selection of paintings and drawings of Brislington & St Anne's, not least of which are the images in the famous Braikenridge collection. These were commissioned by the wealthy local resident and antiquarian George Weare Braikenridge (born 1775, owner of Broomwell House from 1823 until his death in 1856). His assemblage of pictures makes Brislington one of the best visually documented English villages of the 1820s.
