In the foreground near the house on the right-hand side, a footpath leads across a bridge over Brislington Brook - where Jean Road stands today, similarly bridging the watercourse. The road shown here is School Road, and the eponymous school (mostly demolished) has its own tower neatly paralleled by the pinnacle of St Luke's tower.

The photograph is believed to have been taken by Fred Viner, and the postcard published by Viner & Co., Publishers. Bath. The front carries the title "Brislington, Bristol" and the reference number "116". See our notes for more information about this photographer and postcard publisher, and their work in Brislington. Earliest known picture: 13 Sept 1917.
