I wondered how things might have turned out if Furiizaa and his family had never existed...

Fantasy Tails...

Mmmm....I want a tail!! (c) 2001 Joules        It's all her fault

In December 2000 I introduced my friend Di (who prefers reading and writing het to slash) to the concept of Dragonball yaoi.
On January 2nd 2001 she sent me an email: -

              Oi you!!
Right. That's it. You've really done it now.
My first day back at work and what have I spent the last hour doing? WRITING A GODDAMN VEJIITA TAIL FANTASY THAT'S WHAT!
Could have put a lot more tail in it, come to think of it ... LOTS more things he could do with his tail ... maybe next time ...
The silliness goes from strength to strength *sigh*
       Enjoy. If you are mad.
       ;-P

Well, as you've probably realised by now I am mad, and I did enjoy it. You can enjoy it too - click HERE. But even better - from my point of view - it sparked off a whole series of stories...

The Alliance Chronicles started off as quick small stories (my version of light and fluffy as opposed to the angst, anguish and agony I usually inflict on the characters in my writings) as light relief between more serious works. And there were only going to be five of them to start with. Well, that didn't last long...

There was a lot of sex in these works - yaoi, yuri and straight lemon - and a slowly developing and quite complex plot.

The Alliance Chronicles ran to 6 x 25 chapter books plus a seventh of 37 chapters, plus a scattered 43 chapters by Lutra, plus a side stories book of another 10 stand alone fics. I make that 240 chapters (averaging around 3,500 words per chapter, at a rough estimate). It was not a small undertaking! I illustrated a lot of the chapters and borrowed a total of eight characters from DBZ - Vegeta, Radditsu, Goku, Baadock, Zorun, Zaabon, Jeice, Recoom and Burter: the rest of the cast of thousands were my own creations (and to be honest, I developed the borrowed characters so far they became - not unrecognisable, exactly, but far more than the two-dimensional characters they are in the anime.)

Now I'm working on rewriting the series as an original creation, working title 2AC, with not a hint of the works that originally inspired it. So it is with considerable regret (because, let's face it, the AC took four yearsand a lot of love to complete, and is a massive work) I have removed the whole epic from The Zone. That being said, I'm currently working on a tidied up version (with a new side story and some extra features) to burn to an archive CD. I am happy to provide a copy to Zone Members for a blank, recordable CD and the return postage: email me for details. If you're interested in staying up to date with the progress of the project, please to let me know, and I'll subscribe you to a dedicated mailing list!
